High quality fabrics are non-negotiable, especially on a child, as they are always so aware when something is scratchy. The gilets and collars are made in Lancashire by a team of seamstresses headed up by senior pattern cutter Geoff. There are very few clothing factories left in the UK, as so many people make their clothes abroad. Each piece is handmade and the pattern is hand cut, there are no short cuts and no two gilets are the same. It is the handcrafted nature which makes Dixon and Daughter pieces unique.
Dixon and Daughter are pleased to be supporting the British clothing industry as very few companies make their clothes in the UK. It is an infinitely more expensive and laborious process but traditional English clothes making is an art and something which should be celebrated. I am very proud of the ethical credentials of Dixon and Daughter's production as I manufacture everything in Britain.
